"Preaching is not merely the minister's talk about God but God's talk -- and not just any talk. It's the kind of talk that produces new people" (Michael Horton, A Better Way: Rediscovering the Drama of God-Centered Worship, 38).
"Let us cross over the river and rest under the shade of the trees." - T.J. "Stonewall" Jackson

The Minister as Mirror
"As God is loving, as God is paternal, as God moves in all gentleness, so too should the minister mirror all that, so that not only the words but also the life of the minister reflect God's goodness as in a mirror" (Thomas J. Davis, This is My Body: The Presence of Christ in Reformation Thought (Baker Academic, 2008), 125).
