"Hi! I'm CCS of Tree & The Seed." |
About CCS
I was born and raised in rural Indiana. While growing up I attended McGrawsville United Methodist Church with my family. After graduating from High School I completed my undergraduate degree (Religion & Philosophy) at Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana.
In 2006, I married Julie Lynn, a painter from Michigan, and we started attending Trinity Evangelical Church (CREC), in Larwill, Indiana. In April of 2012 I completed my graduate studies for pastoral ministry and theology at Trinity Pastors College, studying under the auspices and authority of Trinity Evangelical's Session of Elders.
Now I am a pastor at Christ Covenant Reformed Church (CREC), in Billings, Montana. When I'm not pastoring I enjoy fishing, and reading and writing--I've had academic prose published in Christian Scholar's Review and poetry published in SNACKS!
Julie and I have four children: Moses, Kati, Hazel, and Ana.
About "Tree & The Seed"
The title for this blog comes from the title of a mixed media piece displayed in the background of this blog. That piece was created by my wife, and I selected it from a botanical study she had begun a handful of years ago.
"Tree & The Seed" represents, for me, the richness and fruitfulness of the Christian life, a life which is modeled after the life of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior -- the Righteous Man that is "like a tree firmly planted by streams of water" (see Psalm 1).
